Your Fertility Journey

I understand the complexities and emotions involved in fertility challenges. My clients come with confounding and painful experiences as they build their family, including pregnancy loss, unexplained infertility, fertility issues associated with medical complications, prolonged conception processes due to age or medical conditions, the impact of work-life balance, same-sex parents and those on solo parenting paths.

My approach is holistic, knowledgable and validating. Along with the emotional and psychological support of therapy, I am knowledgable about the interventions and procedures associated with fertility treatment, including options such as IUI, IVF, cycle tracking, acupuncture and homeopathic interventions, donor choices, and many of the associated tests and procedures to identify and resolve infertility.

Pregnancy and Postpartum

I support individuals and couples during pregnancy and postpartum, recognizing that this rite of passage often brings both joy and mental health challenges.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Care: If you’re suffering from the blues, depression, anxiety, obsessions, or traumatic thoughts and feelings, you don’t have to manage alone. My approach draws upon evidence-based approaches to help you feel better, and focus on your family and yourself as a parent.

Rite of Passage: Becoming a parent, whether it is your first time or you already have children, is a rite of passage. I help you integrate the meaning of this milestone, and support the ways your identity expands as a parent.

Respect for Choices: I respect and validate all birthing choices, whether hospital, birth center, midwife-assisted, or home-birth, ensuring you feel empowered and supported in your decision-making process.

Parenting Support: Assisting in the transition to parenthood by offering practical guidance on feeding, bonding, and nurturing your baby in ways that align with your family's values and preferences.

Disability and Leaves of Absence

The journey to parenthood and the postpartum period can be both rewarding and challenging. Many people find themselves navigating the tension between work responsibilities and the demands of home life. In some cases, taking a leave of absence, whether paid, unpaid, or through disability benefits, can be an important step toward prioritizing mental health and well-being. I support my clients through this process by helping them explore their options, complete necessary documentation, and prepare for a smooth transition back to work when they’re ready.

Religious or Spiritual Experiences and Challenges

I can help you navigate the intersection of your spiritual and secular life. I have an affirming ear for the transformative power and impact of sublime experiences that go beyond ordinary perception. Whether you've encountered these experiences through traditional religious observance, through meditation, ritual, use of plant medicines, transpersonal awareness or a deep connection with some greater mystery, these moments can be profound and life-changing.

I also support healing struggles with faith, religious trauma or existential crisis. If you're navigating a faith crisis, religious trauma, conflicts around religious identity, or an existential crisis, I provide a supportive space to work on these dilemmas. We may explore shifting belief systems, seeking a spiritual path outside of organized religion, examining agnosticism, deconstructing faith, or finding a more direct connection to a higher power. Whatever your background or current beliefs, you’re welcome to bring your full self into the conversation.

For everyone! This dimension of therapy can serve as a primary focus or as an adjunct to addressing other concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and grief. No matter where you are on your journey, I offer a compassionate and validating space for exploration and healing.

Informed Care for Trauma

I work with individuals who have experienced trauma and find that intrusive or activating symptoms disrupt their daily sense of regulation.

My trauma-informed approach draws from attachment theory, somatic experiencing, narrative work, and dynamic processing to help integrate and make sense of these experiences. Together, we can work to recalibrate your nervous system, moderate substance use, reduce or eliminate self-harming behaviors, and shift maladaptive patterns.

It may seem that living activated by trauma has become your new normal, but there is hope for a different life. I am here to help you build a more fulfilling and healthy life where the trauma you have experienced is just part of a much greater story.

DBT-Informed Therapy for Chronic Regulation Issues

I also offer therapy for chronic regulation challenges, informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is an evidence-based approach that supports people in developing practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, regulate behavior, and maintain a more stable sense of self.

DBT can be especially helpful for individuals with trauma histories who are experiencing persistent emotional distress. This approach works well for those who are ready to engage in daily skill use, helping them break free from harmful patterns and build lives that feel more stable, meaningful, and worth living.

If you or a loved one has been through a formal DBT program, either in- or out-patient, and would like to continue to use the skills and language, we are a good fit.
