My Approach and Training
My approach is integrative, drawing from a variety of evidence-based and innovative therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and contemporary mindfulness-informed treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate interpersonal process therapy (IPT) and humanistic principles while maintaining an awareness of ecological systems, empowerment, and culture.
My doctoral research explored mindfulness in addressing existential concerns, and I researched evaluating community-based trauma care programs. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at UCSB Counseling and Psychological Services and my post-doctoral training in constructivist therapy and private practice in Santa Barbara.
I am a trained perinatal mental health practitioner. In addition, I continually pursue my interest in post-traumatic growth, spiritual experiences and practices, parenting, holistic wellness, technology and artificial intelligence.
